Greetings of the President
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Jaques-Dalcroze Society of Japan. We are privileged to announce the hosting of the 3rd 「Dalcroze Eurhythmics International Conference Tokyo Japan 2014」on this very same year. We have again invited internationally active and renowned teachers to further expand the world of Dalcroze and we are delighted to have 16 teachers from abroad, 5 teachers from Japan on board. In comparison with the previous 2008 International Conference, Dalcroze Eurhythmics has significantly broadened its recognition and development in Korea, Taiwan and throughout Asia. Furthermore, Japan has received voices of amazement and joy from teachers worldwide in response to the substantial increase of Eurhythmicians in Japan and their initiatives. The Society hopes to continuously seek to expand Eurhythmics in Japan and further play an active role in enhancing global communications so as to enable more people to encounter with Dalcroze Eurhythmics.
The Society hopes the time each and every participant spent at the International Conference will be one of great meaning, filled with many new discoveries.
The Society would like to take this opportunity to express its heartfelt gratitude to Showa Academia Musicae for willingly accepting the University as the venue of the International Conference; furthermore, to everyone at the University and other persons concerned for their cooperation in the preparation.
